Manufacturer's DescriptionStep onto the pitch and play professional football your way in FIFA 09. Experience the most authentic football simulation EA Sports has delivered as you live the fantasy of playing as a professional player and customise the game to suit your style and ability.
Powered by the third generation of the EA Sports football engine, FIFA 09 features more than 250 core gameplay additions and enhancements that deliver the most responsive, intelligent and realistic action ever for the series. Enjoy turning defenders with more controlled dribbling and ball control, snapping off precision shots with improved first-time shooting mechanics and firing beautifully timed passes with greater accuracy, placing the ball exactly where you want it.
With new player momentum physics the speed and weight of the player determines everything from the distance of a slide tackle and the power of a header to the severity of player collisions and the height of a player's jump. Plus, players now behave according to their physical attributes with larger, stronger players dominating collisions, battles for control of the ball, and position in challenges for two player headers.

Rating: - Fifa 09
I am not going to give a long review about this game but just a short straight to the point review. I like Fifa and PES but last two years for me its been Fifa. This game is fun, the pace is quite good, not too slow or too fast, feels realistic and looks realistic, commentry is decent and has great graphics and for me it feels smoother and really good to play. The controls are easy and doesn't take long to get use to. Heard some people say that this game is far to easy but I think it is just spot ... Read More
Rating: - Fantastic return to form from EA
These day's, the odd yet enticing world of the Internet is ever more important to get full value of our games or consoles. Thankfully, such formulae as sports games will never die on that front, for we can just pick up and play without needing to blast up an American and save the world with your (certainly not mine) headset. Being a Pro Evo player some years ago before I gave up modern consoles, I was fed up with the repetitive nature of releases, but coming back to the world of FIFA has been a great ... Read More
Rating: - Brilliance on a disc!
FIFA09 in my humblest of opinion is by far and away the greatest football simulation released to date.
I play this online and literally shout at the screen as I would when my beloved NUFC play, it brings out my competitive nature more than any other game. Seeing as it is one on one in the online mode that I play, it is simply you against somebody else online and games can be fierce!
You can be at a stalemate up to the 80th minute and then smash a goal home or have one blitzed ... Read More
Rating: - Pretty but, Very Disapponiting Gameplay.
I was surprised to see this game on sale in mid December for a as little as £20 as this only been in the shops for a few months. After buying this and playing it on my PS3 I quickly found out why. There is no doubting that there is some nice touches. I like the way you can have a practice while the console loads the next match and Graphics are crisp. The BIG problem is that the gameplay is awful. Playing against the computer is very frustrating. Keeping possession is very difficult indeed and tackling ... Read More
Rating: - Signs of improvement from EA
I have to say that initially I thought that the game-play was a little bit slow compared to what I have experienced with PES, however after setting the speed to `fast' this allows for thoughtful and intuitive game-play.
The graphics are excellent as you would expect and it's always nice to be able to play with real players in real teams in real leagues (no more England League for me). As well as this there is a quality feel of professionalism in this game that has always been lacking from PES. ... Read More
